Your Professional Writers’ Resume

If you want to apply for freelance writing jobs, many times you’ll need a professional resume. But it shouldn’t be difficult to create your resume. Just remember – potential clients and publishers who will give you assignments or contracts don’t really care that you sold shoes during the summers when you were in college or that you used to have your own pet sitting service unless these particular jobs relate somehow to your writing.
Your professional writers’ resume only needs to include information in the following categories:
Publication Credits (if any – and if you don’t have any you probably need to write at least a few things for free just to gain a few published clips)
Writing Related Activities or Jobs
Education
Awards (for your writing, if any)
Professional Organizations (writing related ones you currently belong to)
