Can’t Get Your Writing Career Up to Speed?

516314_speedometerWhen I was a high school English teacher I always spent at least part of my summers catching up on my writing. These days I have more writing projects than ever over the summers, so it’s definitely NOT a slower time for me. Instead of catching up on my writing, I simply try to KEEP UP with my writing.

If you just can’t seem to get your writing career up to speed, do something about it this summer. Attend a conference and become more motivated to write. Take a writing course or workshop (either in person or on line) and improve your writing skills. Hire a writing coach and learn how to become and stay focused on your writing. Join or create a critique group and benefit from the interaction with other writers.

Then, don’t forget to develop a marketing plan each week and a writing schedule, so you can write, write, write. It only takes one or two new writing assignments to gain enough momentum to pick up speed and make your writing career zoom!

Have a wonderful writing week!
